This site is about dollarweed, also known as water or marsh pennywort. We live in South Louisiana and have lots of dollarweed in our backyard. Dollarweed is one of my favorite little plants in our garden parade. They are much better than crabgrass or things that make you itch! Did you know dollarweed is edible?

Dollarweed has round leaves that are shiny and dark green. They are like little fairy umbrellas that pop up like magic in the garden. They love water and the rain.
