Cucumbers

Cucumbers are of the gourd family cucurbitaceae. Though often considered a vegetable, cucumbers are technically a fruit. Cucumbers grow on creeping vines that root in the ground and grows up trellises or whatever it can grab on. The vines have thin, spiraling tendrils that support them. The plant has large leaves that form little canopies over the cool cucumbers. Cucumbers are mostly grown to be eaten fresh, and some are made into pickles. Cucumbers are mainly eaten in their unripe form. There are lots of varieties of cucumbers you can grow. I love cold, crunchy cucumbers in my salad. Cucumbers are delicious in the summer.
